MARINA BROWNING ARTThe colours of the Cape fynbos and the line and form of the Cape Mountains and sea; the geometric architecture in urban landscapes affect her drawing and painting style. Marina has a passion for the local fynbos, Nguni Cattle, Kwa-Zulu pots, succulents, and South African lighthouses.
She sells her work at local art fairs and accepts commissions from interior designers, owners of historic homes, textbook publishers and local businesses who seek out her unique designs. |
Marina Erasmus Browning's style is realistic and graphic, with the robust use of colour and form. Her work is influenced by her pre-digital advertising experience and by modern contemporary African and European art. |
Marina is represented at the Groot Constantia art galleries near the tasting rooms, the monthly Kirstenbosch Art Fair, the Constantia Market at False Bay Rugby Club, other local art fairs in Tulbach and surrounds, Nguni cattle shows, and botanical society meetings. She loves meeting people and engaging with her customers on their opinions and requests for new work.
Marina also does freelance graphic design work and sells prints of her work, including a series of well known South African Lighthouses and Nguni cattle. She also supplies the retail sector in Cape Town with bespoke tea cloths, mugs and cards, which are mostly for sale to local and international tourists. She also sells to galleries and completes commissions on request.

ABOUT
The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls. |
Marina is originally from the Northern Cape but now lives in Cape Town. She works from her home in the Southern Suburbs, where she has wonderful light streaming in the windows.
Marina worked as Finished Artist in the advertising industry in Johannesburg and is trained in pre-digital era techniques such as photo-retouching and air-brushing. She also taught at the School of Art, Ballet, and Music in Pretoria, the Waldorf teacher's training college in Cape Town, and even used art as a means of inspiring asylum seekers in the UK. She has a degree in fine art and would love to use her skills in art therapy for vulnerable children. |
